It has been a really long time since I have felt the level of disgust for a movie that I felt for 10 Cloverfield Lane. Many years ago all the people in my apartment building used to get togethr on Friday nights to watch Creature Features. These were B level films at best with zombies, vampires, crazy doctors trying to control people etc etc. Cloverfield Lane might have risen to that level.
The acting in this film is so stilted and unconvincing. Even when the characters were trying to be honest they were unbelievable. Perhaps this was also due to a weak script. At times it was so poor I would laugh. Camerawork was sloppy and distracting. Editing was so choppy as to almost make it difficult to follow the film.
There were some underlying meanings in the film but I could never get to them because of my reaction to the aforementioned weaknesses.
Obviously we had opposite opinions; not a good movie but Mary Elizabeth won me over. Finale, 21st century monster slaying.
