In a 2015 article Martin Scorsese stated “With Polish cinema, what I especially respond to is the mixture of passion, meticulous craftmanship, dynamic deep focal-length compositions, moral dilemmas and religious confilicts, often done with a very sharp sense of humor.”
Such was my feeling as I watched this new film. It is unmistakenly Polish in its storytelling and feel. It does not take long to figure out what is coming, yet you are still on edge throughout wondering how and when. The acting is very good, the camera work noticeable but not overbearing. There is definitely passion, moral dilemmas and humor.
