No I have not given up. I have been busy planning a couple of new courses. The first one I will submit and hope to present online in the Fall via The Newberry Library Adult Education Series. It is called The Collaborators, and using 5 beautiful films by directors from around the world will focus on everything that is “within the frame” and that which we imagine is missing from the frame. The second class would be a study of the background and films of Kryztof Kieslowski. More information will follow later this summer.
The only new film I have seen in the interim is “A Thousand To One” An excellently made film. Having worked in the ghetto first as a caseworker and then as a juvenile probation officer I found the film to be very realistic from the environment to the characters. It is a rough film but yet underrneath is heartwarming.
