I apologize for the delay in posting on this film but I got sick right after viewing it.

Because the film was based on three Alice Munro short stories rather than a pure Almodovar script the film had a different feel to it.  The film did not flow well and it was unclear if that was the attempt to tie the stories together or editing problems.  I am told by those that read Munro’s book it was a combination of the editing and the changes made to the story combined.   The Almodovar color schemes were loud and present, the focus on women particularly mother and child was present, but it had a different rhthym to it.  Some of the usual ensemble were involved but also some great performances by new additions.

It is a good movie but not up to Pedro Almodovar standard.  Kudos to him for trying something a little different.
