Last weekend I was lucky enough to see two new films. I walked out of each of them excited about the filmmaking, drained from the emotional ride and thankful I got to see the film.
Our Father, The Devil – Great storytelling, excellent directing, camera work and acting.
No More Bets – Unfortunately has limited distribution. Held my attention throughout. Camera work and Editing carried the day.
I am sure that you noticed that I had not written for a while. I did not want to pass on my negativity. (Did not see Barbie) Is it the strike or is it just mediocre films being released? Time will tell. I expect the strike to be settled in time for holiday films.
Chicago International Film Festival opens in a month. Hopefully will have lots of good stories to report.
