“In The Company of Legends” — A Recommendation

Joan Kramer and David Heeley have teamed together over the past 35 years documenting the lives and careers of many Hollywood legends.  I have just finished reading their book In The Company of Legends (Beaufort Books-2015)Available in hardback, paperback and electronic versions this was one of the more enjoyable reads I have had in a long time.  The book provides the reader with the behind-the-scenes stories of their documentary productions and the personalities involved.  Among those discussed are Katherine Hepburn, James Stewart, Johnny Carson, Frank Sinatra, Ronald and Nancy Reagan, Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman, Jane Fonda, Lauren Bacall, Audrey Hepburn, a number of the studio heads and many others.   The reader gets a look at a side of these people rarely, if ever, seen.  The stories are amusing, moving, revealing and most importantly interesting. As Joanne Woodward says about this fantastic book “Anyone who goes to the movies, the theater, and watches television will treasure this book as much as I do.”  I was sad when I finished reading.  I craved for more.  Get it now!

His company just opened up in their 120th country! Be well, Mike
