Spent the day getting acclimated – bot to the altitude and the town. People are really nice and friendly. Did not see any notables yet.
Visited “Between the Covers Bookstore” and got a fantastic surprise when I found my book on display both in the window and at the front register. There are posters put up in town featuring the authors who will participate in the book signing on Monday with our photos. I get to ride on the coattails of some well known people. The store has also .been passing out my promotional bookmarks. For a first timer all of this is exciting. My sincere gratitude to Daiva and Bobbi for all they have done to help me. They are special people.
Telluride does not announce its lineup until the day before the festival start. There is great anticipation about tomorrow’s announcement. Incidentally my reports from the festival will be brief and direct. I will not be doing detailed analyses saving those for another time – after Toronto and New York.
The drive from Denver was 7 hrs.long but beautiful – at times spectacular. Well worth the time and effort driving the mountains.
Another casual day tomorrow then beginning early Friday morning a slew of films will make their U.S. debut.
Pass the popcorn!
Bob, wow! You’re officially an author when a bookstore features your book and even more so at an important filmiest. Nice going. Keep sending notes on the atmosphere at Telluride. Phil
