Report from Telluride Days 1 & 2

Seen 6 films in day and a half.  went from 7:00  a.m. untl 10:30 p.m. and saw 4 films today.  The reason so few is that Telluride has an atrocious entry system.  All a $800 pass entitles you to is the right to stand in line for 2 hours before each movie and hope that there are enough open seats to reach you in line.  One hour before the movie they pass out entry numbers – still no guarantee of entry.  Finally a half hour before the film they decide how many seats are left after patrons are admitted.  So one needs to be in line at last an hour and a half before the film.

Lost in Paris  1 1/2 stars  (Too avudeville / slapstick)

Maudie w/ Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke  3 stars

Una with Rooney Mara and Ben Mendelsson  4 stars

Things to Come – Isabelle Ruppert  3 stars

Frantz    4 stars

Arrival – Amy Adams    2 stars  (Contact  was much better)

I am saving detailed analyses until later tim.

My book  is being received very well.  A lot of people aware of the signing

People in line very friendly which makes the wait tolerable.
